Care out in the world
Community-Based ABA Therapy
Practice in the everyday places your family goes, so skills learned in one place work in the next one too.
What it looks like
Sessions take place in community settings that matter to your family, such as a grocery store, park, library, restaurant, or a waiting room before an appointment. The goal is to practice skills in the real situations where your child needs them.
Areas community support can focus on
- Waiting, taking turns, and following routines in public
- Communicating with people outside the family
- Safety skills, like staying close and crossing streets
- Getting comfortable with new places and sensory experiences
Planning outings together
Your clinician works with you to choose places and goals that fit your family’s life. Community sessions are often combined with home or center-based care.
